so i've had ghostfire for a long itme and I haven't really gotten to do his main element, cats believing the long standing rumor about him and creating conflict with him. Let's rewind some.
Ghostfire is a riverclan cat, who has a very unique design. His black and white pelt looks to have various faces on it. Now his mother due to her own issues and a tramautic birth of her first litter gone wrong, caused her to snap and put all the blame on her only surviving kit. Froststrike believes he's cursed and throughout his whole life, she's spread these rumors and views on him. And there are cats who believe them.
As a apprentice, Ghostfire was a small and scrawny apprentice who was very anxious and was traumatized by these rumors. However he managed to get through it to a degree and has become a rather massive tom. due to this being his whole life however, Ghostfire is more of solitary clan member. He's either always doing his duties or being on his own in camp, he'll go on solo hunts and come back with prey for Riverclan. Basically he's thrown himself into providing for the clan to stay out of trouble but also has no faith in forming bonds with his clan mates due to the cats that believe these rumors.
So what i want is to be able to play threads with this as the focus. Ghostfire feels a disconnect to his clan because of his ill treatment and how no one really stepped in; when he was born, Loonstar and Mothwing were the only reason Frostsrike didn't murder him after birth but they didn't stop her from giving him the name Ghostkit; due to the haunting faces on his pelt.
these cats can be his age, a little older OR they can be some young bucks intent on saving their clan from the 'cursed' monster living with them. After all, Froststrike is still around and is still spreading these rumors, and those that believe these rumors who have had kits, have taught their kits this as well. so yes, some apprentices can be afraid of him by their parents' teaching and just his sheer size.
Froststrike is still up for adoption if you're interested in her, as she can have her own major plots with Ghostfire (and if i decided to let ghost find love and have kits, she'd be a major role)- deorum.proboards.com/thread/177/reads-chaos
You MUST read Ghostfire's app for this, please...it's important as it's a major part of his character and it's honestly the whole reason this thread exists
These can be existing characters or brand new characters
They must be Riverclan as I don't see these rumors going outside of Riverclan with the same weight; unless you can justify a cat in a outside clan being this way to ghostfire, you're welcome to try.
The potential interactions:
The "cursed" status is what i want to explore. Maybe these cats believe that it's Ghost's fault somehow that greencough is this bad. After all, Froststrike blames three still born kits in the litter with him that he was the only survivor of and he was a scrawny little thing. So making his 'curse' revolve around him being a death omen is possible to the paranoid cats me think
Perhaps a plan to confront Ghostfire goes poorly? Hell maybe they try to kill him but the plan is so poorly done, it's pitiful?
Ghostfire had a apprentice named Acornpaw, but they disappeared (the person is no longer here but i have permission to say that Acornpaw just disappeared one night) and yet when Loonstar was still here, she gave him another apprentice soon after!! in the form of Pepperpaw. Perhaps some of these cats think Ghostfire did something to Acornpaw?
It could also be normal bully tactics. Some young shots trying to prove themelves aganst the larger tom or just being unnerved by the faces on his pelt. Or some warriors his own age boosting about their status inthe clan while Ghostfire lives in his own secluded corner of the clan
There's so many possibilities, these cats could literally just be afraid of Ghost, believing rumors of a enraged she-cat. They could genunienly believe these rumors because they're superstitious or they're looking for someone to blame for things they've lost? They could be trying to fit in with the big crowd and hate on the larger tom without fully understanding why.
There's no cap on this as more cats in this plot means more unique interactions for ghost.
