DEORUM (translating to The Gods) is a traditional warrior cat roleplay featuring the original four clans. The original storyline is followed closely up until the series Omen Of The Stars, in which the plot-line diverges allowing users to create their own tale from the warrior universe.
We are a semi-literate forum with a low word count to ensure all levels of players can participate. We have no character limit and employ an optional but simple die rolling mechanic to ensure variability with roleplay.
1) To start the hunt, someone will do a tracking roll. If 12+ is rolled, then you can assume that the cat tracked the hawk. So, there is no need to do a prey-type roll.
2) The rest of the players will roll to catch the hawk. There will be two attempts (one for each remaining member) to be successful. (Only 1 track/attack per post, please!) To catch it, the combined rolls must be 25 or higher. Age, reputation, specialty, season (green-leaf) & enhancement bonuses are allowed and encouraged!
There will be three rounds! (The round starts when the tracking happens and ends when the hawk escapes/is caught). Please put the die roll numbers in the post, so it's easy to calculate the numbers (and know if the hawk got caught).
The idea of a competition between warriors and apprentices had made the pretty she-cat jump at the chance to prove her loyalty and her skills. While not extremely amazing at all in the hunting business, she did strive to prove her worth. So as she trotted ahead of the ground, she kept her eyes peeled for any hawks that would be just asking to be caught.
'A pity that Hawkstar doesn't count, he'd be a right catch.' She giggled to herself, fluffing up her tidy fur. She had been excited to have an apprentice on her team - perhaps show the feline the ropes. Flicking her ears, the she-cat stopped and parted her jaws, and dropped down, signaling with her tail for the others to do so. She spotted the hawk ahead of them and her ears flatten against her skull.
"Alright, go ahead guys!" She whispered, gesturing for the two to attack. She definitely did not want to break a claw!
[attr="class","howlingscroll"]the idea of another competition was exciting for howlingwind. he always loved a good challenge, and it would hopefully be a good way to unify the clan again after cranefeather's betrayal. this time they were to be hunting at the torn-claw ridge. but they weren't just doing any old hunting-- no, they were searching for hawks specifically. one of the most challenging birds to catch, even for fully grown warriors. howlingwind glanced first at nectarbreeze, then at squirrelpaw. he had confidence in this team, though, and certainly would give it his all, as well.[break][break]
as nectarbreeze crouched down howlingwind did as well. nectarbreeze seemed to have a good nose on her, as she gestured to a hawk just in front of them. it was up to himself and squirrelpaw now, he supposed. he glanced at the apprentice again. "you ready squirrelpaw? follow my lead." he whispered, carefully stalking forward until he was close enough to strike. then he launched himself at the bird, aiming to latch onto it's back and sink his claws in deep.[break][break]
