DEORUM (translating to The Gods) is a traditional warrior cat roleplay featuring the original four clans. The original storyline is followed closely up until the series Omen Of The Stars, in which the plot-line diverges allowing users to create their own tale from the warrior universe.
We are a semi-literate forum with a low word count to ensure all levels of players can participate. We have no character limit and employ an optional but simple die rolling mechanic to ensure variability with roleplay.
RiverClan was thriving. Hawkstar dared say it was doing better than ever, than when Loonstar and Leopardstar were leaders. He was immensely proud, and he as even convinced for a moment that Sagefrost was right. Peace was certainly treating them well. The other Clans had never bothered him less, and under his leadership, RiverClan could not be more independent. While the weather continued to be stormy and dreary, the humidity and the heat of greenleaf kept prey plentiful.
"Let all cats old enough to catch their own prey gather for a Clan meeting!"
The tabby leader had hardly just returned from Emberpaw's assessment as he gave a summoning yowl. The apprentice had stumbled a bit at first, but her swimming skills and adaptability had Hawkstar convinced. Besides, RiverClan was blossoming. Nothing was more uplifting to the Clan during a persistent greenleaf storm than new warriors. Motioning Emberpaw to continue following, he paused a second to wait for the Clan to gather.
"Greenleaf has certainly been an easy one so far. We have many apprentices nearing the end of their training, and I am pleased to announce the excellent completion of Emberpaw and Pepperpaw's assessments. It is about time they become warriors."
He motioned to the two apprentices to step forward with a smile.
"I, Hawkstar, leader of RiverClan, call upon my warrior ancestors to look down on two apprentices. They have trained hard to understand the ways of your noble code, and I commend them to you as warriors in their turn. Pepperpaw, Emberpaw, do you promise to uphold the warrior code and to protect and defend your Clan, even at the cost of your life?"

marching back into camp after her triumphant catch, emberpaw was more than slightly taken aback when hawkstar called to the cats of riverclan. swiftly dropping the crab that had secured her assessment being labled a success, the dainty tortoiseshell moved cautiously to the front of the gathering cats, glancing around her for sister. had pepperpaw passed her assessment as well? it felt like ages since she had had a chance to catch up with the calico, and now it seemed they were becoming warriors! emberpaw could hardly believe her ears as hawkstars’ praise washed over her.
taking a confident step forward, emberpaws’ eyes burned with pride as she listened to the ancient words come forth from her leader. she was grateful, she realized, that her apprenticeship had been extended. she now felt ready to be a warrior, and getting the blessing from hawkstar only intensified that feeling. so many nights she lay in her nest wondering if she’d ever be ready, body weary from that days training, and head full of questions but so few answers. her last moon in particular had been difficult with the disappearance of blackwillow, but she had persevered, nonetheless. she made a note to apologize for being less than welcoming to lilycreek, as hawkstar asked the fated the question.
“yes!” she chirped, hardly able to contain her excitement.
[attr="class","pinscroll"]the moment she heard hawkstar's call, pepperpaw knew that it must be time. she and emberpaw had been training for so long, there was no way they weren't ready! she headed over immediately and took her spot next to emberpaw, flashing her sister a wide, excited grin. she could barely contain her excitement as she listened to hawkstar speak. she wondered if ghostfire was in the crowd. was he proud of her? she hoped so! as hawkstar asked the fated question, pepperpaw raised her head up high, eyes gleaming.[break][break]
"i do!" she responded without hesitation. she would fight and die for riverclan, if it came down to it. even though their ceremony was a bit late, it was okay. all that mattered was that it was finally happening. pepperpaw couldn't wait to hear what name hawkstar would give her. she hoped it would be something cool.
"Then by the powers of StarClan, I grant you your warrior names."
A name held great value to Hawkstar. He wanted all warriors to carry a pride in them as he did his once upon a time. This name would be forever, unless one of them succeeded him. It had to speak to their deepest and most intrinsic personality traits and personal talents. Hawkstar never settled for anything less. He had thought long and hard about this prior to their ceremony, but it showed more than ever now.
His gaze shifted to the apprentice whose assessment he had just attended. She never gave up, despite multiple disappointments, and if she had become frustrated, she did not show it. The formidable new warrior of RiverClan would need a name to suit her boisterous but tenacious attitude. Even in face of her mentor reassignment to Lilycreek, a matter necessary after a particularly difficult greencough season, the apprentice had finished her training without a complaint.
"Emberpaw, from this moment forward, you shall be known as Emberstorm. StarClan honors your resilience and determination."
Shifting his eyes toward Pepperpaw, he thought of when Flickerstep had reported back to him about the patrol. Pepperpaw had shown particular promise in her knowledge regarding both the cove and fishing there. So much so that, the apprentice was allowed to take the lead during the patrol. In addition, her training under the peculiar warrior, Ghostfire, was sure to yield some unconventional tactics. She would need a name to burn as brightly as she did ahead of her peers.
"Pepperpaw, you will be known as Pepperflame. StarClan honors your spirit and enthusiasm. We welcome you as full warriors of RiverClan."
With that, Hawkstar leaped down to yowl the new warriors' names along with the rest of the Clan.

as hawkstar looked at her, emberpaw felt her chest swell with pride. she thought back to the first time she set foot into the territory with blackwillow. back then, everything had seemed so big and scary; the scents were alien, the thought of becoming a warrior were so distant that she didn’t think she would ever reach her goals. but from the moment she stood before the decaying two-leg bridge, she knew that one day, she would be a mighty warrior of riverclan. there had been bumps in the road, of course, with blackwillow going missing, and her being assigned a new mentor. her state of mind had taken a hit then. she had been in a dark place, angry that blackwillow hadn’t been there, hurt that she would abandon her, and scared that it would delay her progress even more. but it hadn’t. she hadn’t ultimately taken all these feelings out on lilycreek.
now, it all seemed so miniscule in light of her ceremony. regardless of the events that had occurred, hawkstar had still deemed her capable of becoming a warrior. her anger and hurt had been misplaced. she couldn’t help but feel a little silly in the way she had acted towards lilycreek, and the resentment she had felt towards her. but that was water under the bridge now. if she was to move on and be the best possible warrior, she had to put all of that behind her. along with leaving her apprentice name behind, she had to leave all those feelings behind as well. so, with a slow breath in, she met hawkstars’ icy blue gaze with her green one, and exhaled as he gave her her warrior name: emberstorm.
she now looked to her sister, and she felt like she was going to burst. her brave, kind hearted, beautiful sister. the two were so different, yet emberstorm had never been closer to anyone else. she was so happy to have her in her life, to be able to have a friend to turn to no matter what, and for that friend to be kin. sharing this moment with her was the best thing that emberstorm could ask for.
as hawkstar gave her sister her knew name, emberstorm broke into a grin and called out “pepperflame!” and ran up to touch noses with her sister.
