CEDARBRANCHCedarbranch was sitting in camp, munching on a rabbit. He had been thinking a lot about his family recently and didn't have much other things on his mind then his former family. However, he had wished for an apprentice very recently as well but doesn't quite have one at the moment. And so, he continued to munch on the rabbit, his hunger slowly diminishing. It took a lot for Cedarbranch to be fully trusted by WindClan's cats, and even then, there were still those who did not trust him due to his loner lineage. Cedarbranch shouldn't have let this stall him, yet it did. He hated how insecure he was about the opinions of those around him. Nevertheless, WindClan has mostly been good to him overall. As he finished the rabbit he was eating, he noticed the kits playing in the clearing. Oh, how he wished his siblings had lived long enough to play with him. One could even say Cedarbranch was even jealous of the kits. However, he didn't let this jealousy get to him so easily. He still had a clan to fend for. As he got up to sit on his paws, he noticed a young apprentice trotting towards him. "Hello there. Is there something you require?"vervain

A lot of things in this world were scary to Sorrelpaw, and outsiders were no exception. WindClan had a long history, and for a good part of that history (particularly in the old territory) they had been viewed as a weaker Clan, often taken advantage of. For that reason, the apprentice had been raised on tales of mistrust and caution, and taught that a lot of the time, pride in your Clan was all you had. Her relatives and friends were, for the most part, traditionalists who didn’t take too kindly to outsider influence. So was it any wonder that the sight of Cedarbranch at times struck her with fear? She had heard that he had been a loner, before he joined WindClan, and loners sometimes had weird ideas about how the world worked. Like, maybe he ate babies or something! You could never be too cautious. Lately, though, other rumors had spread about the dark-furred warrior. Rumors about how he had a story for every occasion, how he could make pictures come alive with just a few words. And if there was anything that could get Sorrelpaw to overcome her fears, it was sheer curiosity. So, with much caution, she tip-toes over to where the warrior sat, shaking like a leaf as he turned his attention to her. His greeting was… normal. Friendly, even, and she musters up a smile that no doubt looked a little forced. ”H-hello. I heard that you’re a good storyteller, Cedarbranch.” She mewed, shuffling her paws in the dirt. ”I was wondering if you could maybe tell me a story?”Cedarbranch

CEDARBRANCH
Cedarbranch kept his kind smile as the apprentice looked at him with fear yet curiosity. "Well, I can tell you a number of stories. Like The Vixen's Path, The Sun and the Moon, or some other story you wish to hear. I have some personal ones that I have created from my own mind, as well." He replied with a kind tone. The large tomcat then started to speak once again.
"And yes, I have told many other apprentices like yourself, as well as kits, my stories. So, no need to be afraid, I don't bite." Cedarbranch said with a chuckle before waiting for a reply.

Sorrelpaw could feel a relieved breath leave her body in a great heaving whoosh, because– well, this guy was much nicer than she would have thought! Even nicer than some of the Clan-born cats, in her opinion, though she would never say that aloud lest she get her ears boxed. Heat infused her cheeks as the familiar feel of embarrassment began to well in her chest, but at least it seemed like Cedarbranch wouldn’t hold it against her for being afraid at first. Her eyes grew wide as he listed off a few of his stories. On one hand, the Vixen’s Path sounded really cool (if not scary, because foxes, hello!) but on the other hand, the Sun and the Moon… Sorrelpaw had always thought that only the stars were special, since their ancestors lived among the twinkling lights up in StarClan. Did that mean that non-Clan cats had their own special beliefs about the sun and the moon too? Yellow gaze clearly indecisive, she finally meowed, ”Could you please tell me about the Sun and the Moon, mister Cedarbranch?” Maybe if she payed really really close attention to the tale, she could tell her mama all about it later. Ears perked as far up as they could go, the warrior held the apprentice’s full attention as her anticipation became practically palpable. Cedarbranch
